Beiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd. was listed as one of the enterprises in Beijing's "Beijing 1000 Patents Development Plan." Since its foundation in 1996, Beiqi Foton has been granted over 1,900 patents, among which 363 are invention patents, amounting to 19% of the total patents. In 2011 alone, Beiqi Foton applied for more than 1000 patents, thus becoming the first Beijing enterprise whose annual patent applications surpassed 1000.
