A group Development Strategy and Regional Economy Dep't of the Development Research Center of the State Council, led by Zhang Junkuo, director –general of the department, visited the city of Changbaishan, Jilin province, May 25-28, 200.

They study the ecology and environment, industrial development, industrial transformations, and personnel placement in forested and mining areas, as well as resource exhaustion, frontier trade and tourism resources in five counties around Changbai Mountain, with researchers along to help.
