On July 23, the Workshop on Reforming China’s Public Hospital Financing and Doctors’ Pay, which was the joint study between the Research Department of Social Development of DRC and British Embassy to China, was held in Beijing. The joint study is supported by the “China Prosperity SPF Fund”. Mr. Zhang Laiming, Vice President of DRC and Mr. James Sebastian Lamin Wood, British Ambassador to China, attended the workshop and made speeches. Mme Sun Lanlan, Director General of the International Cooperation Department and Mr. Ge Yanfeng, Director General of the Research Department of Social Development, chaired the workshop sessions respectively. Representatives from NDRC, NHFPC, MOHHSS, MOE and relevant local governments and organizations of Beijing, Anhui, Shanxi and Xiamen, delivered speeches at the meeting. Experts from UK and France introduced their experiences on the issue as well. Representatives from World Bank, UNDP, PWC and KPMG also attend the meeting.
