Abstract: The history of mankind’s evolution is also a history of mankind's travel transformation. Based on such a fact, this paper gives an analysis of the three revolutions occurred in mankind's travel transformation and tries to explore the trajectory, background, driving forces and influential factors of mankind’s travel changes. The research findings could enable us to accomplish the following goals. 1. They could enable us to have a better understanding of the nature, causes, features, evolution direction and path of the present as well as the future travel revolution. 2. They could help us to enhance the perception on future travel revolution trend respectively from the perspectives of the evolution of human civilization, industrialization and urbanization. 3. They could help us to address the deep-seated problems in China's urban and rural development, boost the transformation of growth drivers, improve public and social benefits and increase benefits generated from energy resources and ecological environment. 4. They could contribute to the formation of a strategic system in turning China into a strong travel power and build a scientific and appropriate public policy system covering government sectors, consumers, car manufacturers, travel service agencies and other stakeholders.
