Abstract: The pilot project of ecological product value realization mechanism is an important way to put into effect President Xi Jinping Thought on ecological civilization. Lishui city in Zhejiang province is the first city to launch pilot project on the mechanism for realizing the economic value of ecological product in China. Through positive explorations in the pilot project, Lishui city has made innovations in terms of government-led reward and punishment system, cultivated market transaction mechanism, promoted property rights reform, and developed endogenous motivation for the government, enterprises, individuals and other entities to actively promote the value realization of ecological products. Consequently, these efforts have generated gratified results. Based on the pilot experience gained by Lishui city, it is suggested that relevant government departments at various levels expedite the improvement of government reward and punishment mechanisms including financial rewards and subsidy, assessment, audit and demonstration for the value realization of ecological products, accelerate the development of the market mechanism of property rights transactions and industrialization operations for the value realization of ecological products, and establish a public participation mechanism for the realization of the value of ecological products to ensure that each household could enjoy his due rights and interests. By so doing could we hopefully form a lasting internal driving force for the value realization of ecological products nationwide.
