????Career Counseling@GLMBA Plan

????Career Counseling Plan launched by Career Development Office (CDO) of Shanghai University MBA Center and Global Management Education Institute in the spring semester of 2009 is one of the key tasks to deal with severe job market affected by global financial tsunami. This plan aims to know students'personal career status and confusion individually; in addition, it also arranges face-to-face communications for students with enterprises, alumni and professors.

????Career Counseling Plan is established to assist students in knowing individual career orientation, developing occupation idea and strategy, thus, students could acquire more career information. In the process of contacting with alumni, CDO gradually accumulates GLMBA alumni resources, then setting up students'social network.

????CDO Two Counseling Activities: Individual and Collective

????Individual counseling means on the basis of understanding personality, corresponding consultant communicates with each student according to various situations.

????Collective counseling means collective communications focus on certain industry organized once a month by the way of collective discussion.

????The first way tends to solve problem individually, while the other way concentrates on offering the social network platform.

????The Content of Career Counseling

????From the end of 2008, CDO has started to communicate with some students. CDO is about to communicate with every 07FT student individually at least twice between February and March of 2009.

????At the first time, colleagues of CDO meet students and know their needs in depth, after that, CDO colleagues will create"Career Development Files"recording detailed career confusion. At the second time, CDO colleagues arrange meeting for students with alumni on the basis of first meeting concerning relevant problems. Meanwhile, our colleagues will record consultants'feedbacks in"Career Development Files".

????CDO Plan will hold a collective counseling in the last week of each month during February and June of 2009.

????The Timetable of Career Counseling

????In the spring semester of 2009, Career Counseling plan is launched mainly for FT students. Therefore, CDO will accept consultation applications from 08FT students before July when finishing all the 07FT consultations. While for the requirements from PT students, CDO will start at the autumn semester of 2009.
