Many people, particularly migrants and those seeking care in cities away from their hometown, have had problems claiming reimbursement of medical bills due to varying insurance standards.

A unified platform with complete information on all people, from different places, covered by medical insurance has to be created together with real-time settlement of fees, said Xie.

It is essential to streamline standards of treatment and regulate supervision of medical insurance, he added.
