The 15th Xiamen International Marathon, an IAAF Gold Label road race event, held by the Fujian province city since 2003, will run on Jan 2, 2017.
The large-scale event will also include a series of side activities including the Cross-Straits Invitational Marathon Tournament, a torch relay and lighting ceremony, a photography contest, a cheerleaders' contest, a mayoral forum, and a host of family-friendly events.

Located on Xiamen Island, the famed marathon is a coastal course that threads its way through some of the city's most stunning natural sceneries, historically important sites, and stylish modern architectures.
The race starts and finishes at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center and makes turn backs first at Guanyin Mountain and later at Shiqiao Center.
