A ragged child's coat is on display at the exhibition. Such coats were made of rags spared by neighbors to ward off bad luck for children. When children grew up, they would return a large piece of cloth to their neighbors for each rag they had received, according to Wang Jianyu, a collector and the curator of the exhibition.
