High-Tech industry

In the spirit of high-level development and mutual benefits, Pingtan takes over high-tech industries from Taiwan and foreign countries, focuses on the fields of digital information, new material, and new energy, and aims to construct a high-tech industry base on the coast of Fujian province.

Digital information industry

Pingtan will give priority to photo electricity, new displays, integrated circuit design, and electric automobile sectors. It plans to build an electronic automobile industry base that supports the digital and automobile electronic industries in Fuzhou city and neighboring areas.

The?zone will strengthen cooperation with Taiwan in the fields of open source software and digital content to develop its software and information services industries.

New material industry

Pingtan attaches importance to digital information, nanometer technology, and new macromolecule material industries. It will promote the development of the new material industrial cluster and, build a demonstration base of new material on the coast of Fujian. Pingtan also plans to upgrade the structure of relevant industries in Fuzhou, Xiamen, and Quanzhou region, South China.

New energy industry

Pingtan will make full use of its abundant wind and tidal energy to strengthen research and build experimental bases on tidal power generation. It will increase cooperation with Taiwan, and promote the establishment of research and development bases of new energy in both Fujian and Taiwan.
