Fuzhou, the provincial capital of Fujian province, organized a swimming event on Jan 1, also known as the nation's 18th Winter Swimming Day. More than 1,000 participants swam across the Minjiang River, the province's biggest river. The Pingtan Winter Swimming Association took part in the event by sending 11 swimmers, including three females, aged 12 to 57. [Photo provided to China Daily] |
