The construction of Pingtan's newest park, Lianhuashan Park, is expected to be finished in October, according to construction company Pingtan Municipal Administrative Landscaping Co, which is undertaking the project.

With an investment of 58 million yuan ($8.4 million), the 220,000-square-meter park shall offer local residents a new destination for outdoor activities such as running and cycling. Construction on the park started in March.

Lianhuashan Park is designed to blend into the original ecological landscape to the utmost extent, with its high green coverage rate making it a natural oxygen bar for the city in Fujian province.
