On February 3, 2015, Wang Jianping, Chairman of Energy China paid an official call on Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner during her three-day state visit to China. Both sides held friendly talks.
Wang made a brief introduction of Energy China and its international business, and appreciated the Argentine government’s trust and support for Energy China. He mentioned that: as an ultra-large backbone enterprise engaged in a complete business chain ranging from power planning & engineering consultation, engineering, project contracting, equipment manufacturing to investment and operation, Energy China is a main force of energy construction in China and the world. He also expressed that Energy China would try its utmost in the organization and execution of the two hydropower dams project- the Nestor Kirchner and Jorge Cepernic - in Argentina, which was contracted by China Gezhouba Group Corporation (CGGC), one of the subsidiaries of Energy China, and was a result of joint efforts of both heads of state. Energy China will abide by the local laws and regulations, and will actively perform its social responsibilities, making this project a testimony to China-Argentina friendship.

Cristina highly appreciated Energy China’s comprehensive strength and the efforts made by CGGC and Energy China in the construction of the hydropower stations. She said that this project was the largest one in Argentine history, the completion of which would lead to diversified electric power resources in Argentina, increased generating capacity and expanded agricultural irrigation areas. It is not only of great significance to Argentine economy and social development, but also has a positive impact on the development of other Latin-American countries. She hoped that Energy China and its subsidiary CGGC would attach great importance to project performance and make it “the Three Gorges Project” in Argentina, as well as a brilliant brand for Energy China and Chinese enterprise in Argentina.
