With a total investment of 350 million yuan ($49.97 million) and covering an area of 1.5 square kilometers, the Danquan Liquor Culture Scenic Area is a national 4A-level attraction consisting of two parts: the Danquan wine factory and a wine cave named Dongtian Jiuhai Scenic Spot.

The scenic area has integrated the liquor industry, karst landscape, and liquor culture, creating a characteristic tourist attraction integrating tourism, scientific research and education, as well as cultural display and experiences.

Established in 1956, the Danquan wine factory has since developed into a famous Maotai-flavor liquor factory in China. Covering an area of 3,000 mu (200 hectares), it is the largest liquor production base in Guangxi. Here, visitors can observe the wine making process and taste different kinds of wines.

The Dongtian Jiuhai Scenic Spot is a natural karst cave with a constant temperature of 15?C in all seasons, which stores 50,000 tons of wine. It is currently the largest wine cave in China, with a development and construction area of nearly 133,000 sq m.

The location of the scenic spot, Nandan county in northwestern Guangxi, is the border between Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and Guizhou province. It has a long history of mining and alchemy, and has 13 ethnic groups living here, such as the Zhuang, Han, Yao, and Miao, with diverse ethnic cultures.
