The 2019 China International Big Data Fusion Innovation & AI Global Competition started in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Feb 28.
It is an international competition with six sub-contest areas in China, Germany, and Israel. The semifinals and finals will be held in Guiyang during the 2019 Big Data Expo this May.
The competition is expected to enhance cooperation among partners and help improve the industrial environment, technological platforms, the vertical application of AI, and market promotion.
The competition is also expected to accelerate the development and innovation of AI by taking full advantage of the strengths and resources of all parties.

The competition will offer a total of 2.45 million yuan ($365,500) in prize money. Award-winning projects will have a chance to receive industrial policy support, venture capital funds, a free platform and data resources, and low cost access to an innovation accelerator.
All products or projects, aside from previous winners, that involve the application of AI in daily life, industry, medical treatment, transportation, agriculture, culture, education, and other areas are eligible to take part in the competition.
The competition will consist of project collection, preliminary online contest selection, sub-contest regional finals, global semifinals, and global finals. Those interested can sign in at www.chinaopen.ai.
