The Qinghuangdao Economic-Technological Development Area and ZTEICT signed a cooperation agreement in Beidaihe on August 12. They will build the "City of Wisdom" Qinghuangdao North Base Project cooperatively. Zhang Qingwei, governor of Hebei province, and Hou Weigui, the president of ZTEICT, attended the signing ceremony.

ZTEICT invested one billion yuan ($157.3 million) to the "City of Wisdom" Qinghuangdao North Base Project. The project covers an area of 227 mu (15 hectares). It includes a cloud computing base, software R&D center, and an operation and maintenance center. Once the project is finished, it is expected to reap profits of three billion yuan within five years and 10 billion yuan within 10 years. It can also provide cloud computing services in digital health, digital public security and digital education sectors.

Zhang Qingwei, on behalf of the Hebei provincial government, expressed his gratitude to ZTEICT. He introduced the basic situation of Hebei briefly in the ceremony. He noted that Hebei is making efforts to develop the Caofeidian district and Bohai new district. The Caofeidian district and Caofeidian comprehensive bonded zone were approved several days ago. Hebei is focusing on accelerating the development of strategic emerging industries and fully supports the development of industries with comparative advantages, such as the electronic information industry. ZTEICT is the largest listed communication device company as well as the leading provider of integrated communication solutions. This cooperation will enhance the relationship between Hebei and ZTEIC.

Hou Weihui expressed his gratitude for Hebei's cooperation and generous support. He said that ZTEICT will take advantage of its talent base, finance and technologies to promote the development of the program and contribute to the economic and social development of Hebei.
