The Hengshui Lake International Marathon will open on Sep 22 this year in Hengshui city, Hebei province.

It is the first international event held in Hengshui that attracts many top players from both at home and abroad to take part in the competition.

The Hengshui Sports Bureau is currently carrying out 22 sports events in the city. This includes a long-distance running competition, a tug-of-war competition, a chess competition, a badminton game, a martial arts competition and the marathon test event. These will all occur as preparations and test events for the International Marathon on Sep 22.

Liu Kewei, the secretary of the Hengshui Municipal Communist Party Committee said that the International Marathon is not just a sports event, but is also a platform to present the image of Hengshui to the public.
