On Jan 1, 2012, the 17th national winter swimming day, the first "Shentong Express Cup" Winter Swimming Game was held in Ruzhou city. The game was hosted by the Ruzhou Board of Education with Ruzhou Winter Swimming Association as the undertaker and Ruzhou Shentong Express Co. Ltd. as the co-sponsor.

In the afternoon with a temperature between 0 C-4 C, 60 winter swimmers gathered by Mamiao Lake.

At 2 pm, the winter swimming game drew the curtain. The swimmers in six groups jumped into the 3 C lake. With different styles such as the breaststroke, butterfly, and freestyle, the swimmers swam over 100 meters and successfully completed the relay race.

After, there was a spectacular underwater performance and three female winter swimmers caught the attention of the audience. They wore fancy dress, had witty expressions, exaggerated movements and their excellent performance in water immediately filled the Lake with a festive atmosphere.
