Despite heavy rain, Ren Xueyuan, the Director of Huaqiao Economic Development Zone, along with other responsible officials from Kunshan city government, visited Huaqiao to see the current projects under construction firsthand, and announced a new goal for the construction teams: that everything should be finished completely or partially by this October.

Ren toured the Capgemini Industrial Park, a section of the Economic Development Zone set up by Capgemini, a global outsourcing consultancy, and praised its simple, bright decorations, which he said were very suitable for shopping. He also suggested using the park to promote Huaqiao’s image and market Huaqiao’s own companies as well.

In addition, Ren investigated some key projects in another section of the Huaqiao Economic Development Zone called the Leading Area. There, he saw the First Shanghai Center Project, Saige Electronics, and the Zhong Yu Project. Elsewhere in the HEDC, Ren visited Talent Apartments, the CITIC Huaqiao Industrial Park, the headquarters of Kingboard Chemical Holdings Ltd, and the Entertainment and Sports Cities.

Finally, Ren saw the Dongjing and Jincheng Areas of the Huaqiao Economic Development Zone, where the construction has just begun. He also announced that each area should videotape the process of construction and development, to keep a record of progress for the future.
