Over the past three years, officials at Huaqiao International Service Business Park have never stopped trying their efforts to promote Huaqiao’s construction.

Idea of striving

“On the African prairie lives a kind of goat, which tries to run faster than a lion, or they’ll be caught up and killed for food by lions. The lions have to run faster than the slowest goat, or they will starve to death. Here is an Arabian fable, that tells of the importance of steady progress and continuous efforts.” Ren Xueyuan, director of the managing committee of Huaqiao economic development zone, once told a reporter for Kunshan Daily, “That’s the rule of survival of the fittest. This is also true of an enterprise or a district. We should compete with others, with time, with ourselves.”

Formerly dealing with manufacturing and agricultural industries, many officials of Huaqiao International Service Business Park should learn the modern service industry, which is totally new to them, from books, experts and other advanced regions. Several batches of officials were sent to foreign countries to learn the related experience and ideas.

On the table of Zeng Yuxiang, director of the Planning and Construction Bureau at Huaqiao, sits a 80 centimeter high pile of documents, concerning building designs and road lamp installments.

The management departments and service departments work around the clock going beyond the regular eight hours. In case of emergency accidents, the staff from the management departments will arrive at the spot immediately and settle them.

There will be a shift team every night, consisting of a leader from the managing committee as well as three others from other bureaus, who need to carry out the night shift check and make detailed records.

Rapid development

All officials stick to the principle of do what others can’t. They seize every minute to change Huaqiao from a countrified town into a satellite town with fashion and grace for a modern metropolis.

At the Leading Area live more than 30 enterprises. Hilton Restaurant has been put into operation. Saige Electronic Square will be open to the public soon and the construction of the Zhonghuan Square is closing.

At the two sides of Greenland Avenue lie the E-mart supermarket, McDonald’s, Greenland kindergarten and other life facilities, which are convenient to local citizen’s work and life.

The headquarters base is also crowded with construction sites of Zhongyin International Business Park and Tangram Customer Interaction Center and CITIC industrial park. NSK headquarters and Greenland headquarters have been constructed, ready for use.

At the service outsourcing base, the main buildings of France’s Capgmini and Jiangsu Yuanyang Data Processing Co Ltd have been constructed. The construction site of China Data Group is very busy. The building for the Global Data Solutions Limited is under construction.
