Officials from Huaqiao International Service Business Park visited the Taicang Port Development Zone last Saturday to learn and experience more about development.

The visiting group was welcomed by Qiu Zhende, director of the managing committee of the Taicang Port Development Zone, who briefed them on local development.

The visiting group hailed the construction and creativity of the Taicang Port Development Zone in the aggregation of major industries and expressed their desire to learn from the Zone and further research methods to counter financial risks.

As one of the most important ports in East China’s Jiangsu province, the Taicang Port Development Zone, with an area of 261 sq km, has developed into an industrial aggregation area with petrification, woods, steel products and chemical raw materials.

Officials on the visit included the Director of the managing committee of the Huaqiao Economic Development Zone, Ren Xueyuan and Vice Directors Shen Huafei, Zhang Jianwen, Tang Naixin, Cheng Wenrong, as well as other officials from various departments.

The Taicang Port Development Zone is located at the intersection of China's Yangtze River Economic Belt and Coastal Opening-up Belt, with the Yangtze River to the east, Shanghai to the south and Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou to the east. It is 40 kilometers from Shanghai proper. With the burgeoning of the Yangtze River Economic Belt headed by Shanghai Pudong area and the establishment and growth of the Sino-Singapore-cooperated Suzhou Industrial Park, Taicang Port is demonstrating its geographical advantage more and more in conjunction with Shanghai, and developing jointly with Pudong and the Suzhou Industrial Park.
