The Construction Association of the Huaqiao Economic Development Zone was officially founded on Jan 23. The new association creates a communication platform for government agencies and enterprises and will help improve the construction projects at Huaqiao Business Park with the participation of non-official organizations and construction market industrial management.

Present at the opening ceremony were Ren Yuanxu, a member of the CPC Kunshan Municipal Committee and director-general of the managing committee of the Huaqiao Economic Development Zone, and Zhang Jianwen and Cheng Wenrong, deputy director-generals.

The association was voluntarily founded by the enterprises, institutions and professionals engaged in engineering designs, mapping, civil construction projects, municipal engineering, gardening and greening projects, real estate development and estate management at the economic zone. The chairman, vice chairman, standing council members and secretary-general were elected to the association, which has 134 group members.

The association will promote cooperation between construction enterprises in the zone and also promote self-discipline of the industry and the use of new building techniques.
