A ceremony has been held to celebrate the launch of Kunshan’s first metro system on June 30.
Kunshan subway line 11 will connect Anting to Huaqiao, making the commute into Shanghai faster and more convenient. The development will ease traffic congestion between Huaqiao and the downtown area of Jiading district in Shanghai. Those expected to gain the most from the new route are the residents who live in Huaqiao but work in Shanghai.
Businesses will reap the benefits. The construction of Line 11 is likely to accelerate economic development in the Yangtze River Delta region and strengthen commercial exchanges between Shanghai and Jiangsu province.
