On Dec 8, the Global Business Dialogue on e-Society (GBDe) Summit was held at Huaqiao International Service Business Park.

Delegates from global leading enterprises of various industries such as CISCO, Hitachi, NEC, NRI and TPI congregated at Huaqiao and discussed the theme of “Cloud Computing and the Development of Data Disaster Recovery”.

Guan Aiguo, secretary of the Kunshan Municipal Party Committee and secretary of the Party Working Committee of Huaqiao Economic Development Zone and Zhou Ming, executive vice-president of China Council of International Investment Promotion attended the conference. Shen Huafei, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee of Huaqiao Economic Development Zone and deputy director of the Administrative Commission of Huaqiao Economic Development Zone was also there.

Guan Aiguo extended his welcome to all the honored guests and introduced to them the development of Kunshan, Jiangsu province. “Kunshan is an important emerging industrial and commercial city within the Shanghai economic circle,” he said. Currently, it has developed a key industrial cluster which is dominated by high-tech industry and focuses on electronic information and equipment manufacturing, biomedicine, software and service outsourcing, modern logistics, business services, modern finance and e-commerce. In 2011, Kunshan was listed on Forbes as one of the best county-level cities in China. Aiming to promote the establishment of “a sustainable e-society”, GBDe has planned to fully explore the impact of e-commerce on contemporary society from the perspective of law, education, technology, privacy and credit, and such further themes. The enterprises and organizations jointly make and improve their developmental strategies related to e-commerce.

Since its establishment, GBDe has held annual summit conferences in different cities of the world, like Paris, Miami, Tokyo, Brussels, New York, Taipei, San Francisco and Munich.
