On May 21th, the preliminary assessment session of The Planning Review of Huaqiao International Service Business Park was held in Huaqiao.

The Planning Review of Huaqiao International Service Business Park was compiled by the Planning and Design Institute of Jiangsu province. Before clarifying the future planning, the Planning Review has first fully recognized the achievements that Huaqiao has made during the past seven years of development and construction. Combined with a blueprint for Huaqiao's future development, the planning review has comprehensively illustrated the regional coordination, social and economic development, functional spatial layout, overall transportation, ecological system and operational mechanisms of Huaqiao. After strictly scrutinizing the preliminary results, the experts and related departments have come up with constructive proposals.

The Planning Review of Huaqiao International Service Business Park aims at reflection, summary, and re-planning. By reviewing the implementation of the plan and resting upon the status quo, the planning review is designed to effectively solve the salient issues that confront the development of Huaqiao. The session noted that the evaluation of the Planning Review has been based on meticulous research, sufficient data and substantial content, which consequently has generated a thorough understanding of the development of Huaqiao.

The session also required that the merging of city and industry in Huaqiao should be accelerated; the international features of Huaqiao should be highlighted; and the recent issue of operability should be further studied. This way, Huaqiao can push through the development planning as early as possible and better serve for the planning and construction of the Huaqiao International Service Business Park.

Zhang Jianwen, deputy director of the Management Committee of the Huaqiao Economic Development Zone and officials from the Development and Reform Commission of Kunshan, Jiangsu province, the Land and Resources Bureau, the Housing Construction Office, the Planning Bureau, the Transportation Bureau and other relative departments attended the conference. At the conference, several renowned experts and scholars gathered together to "diagnose" the problems of city planning in Huaqiao.
