Recently, a delegation led by Suzhou Federation of Trade Unions (FTU) President Wen Xianghua visited Huaqiao Economic Development Zone’s FTU to investigate its work at the district and town levels. Zhang Xuechun, deputy party secretary of Kunshan, had joined.

Wen Xianghua listened to a brief introduction and discussed how to develop the trade unions faster. He said that over the years, Kunshan has expanded rapidly and made achievements, which provides a major stage for trade unions. Meanwhile, the trade unions at the district and town levels have performed well. Kunshan’ FTU has integrated its work into the city’s, innovated in mechanism and mobilized workers to make achievements in modernization.

Wen stressed that Kunshan faces a crucial period so the trade unions should make greater contributions. These aspects should be given greater attention: Keep innovating; organize workers to carry out various technological innovation activities. Safeguard legitimate rights and interests of workers. Maintain social stability; help workers in difficulties by showing concern for their lives; and pay attention to labor relations especially after minimum wage adjustments.
