Four companies in Huaqiao were recognized as the first batch of headquarter enterprises in Suzhou, a title awarded to companies meeting certain criteria in the area. The enterprises include Kunshan Runhua Commercial Co, Kunshan NSK, Harson Trading(China) Co and Goodbaby Child Products. Kunshan, a county-level city in Suzhou, now has six firms that are designated as headquarter enterprises, according to the Jiangsu Development and Reform Commission.

As a provincial-level development zone, Huaqiao International Service Business Park promotes industrial agglomeration including outsourcing, headquarters economy, trade and logistics. Huaqiao has allocated 2.5 square kilometers to build a regional multi-use economic base for research and marketing. Many famous enterprises such as NSK, China City Group, Evoc Group, Hanting, Blossom Hill and Wandanu have established regional headquarters in Huaqiao. Enterprises in Huaqiao realized an operating income of 32.57 billion yuan ($5.2 billion) in 2012.
