CGGC undertakes installation of the Three Gorges underground power station

On the afternoon of May 26, the contract on the electromechanical installation project of the Three Gorges Underground Power Station was signed in China Three Gorges Corporation, marking the beginning of a new installation stage of the power station.

CGGC has won the bid for the 700,000kw-generating units installation of the Three Gorges underground power station, and made it the third project of the company in the Three Gorges Project after it installed four generating units on the left bank of the Three Gorges and 8 generating units on the right bank.

The project of this time includes, according to the contract, not only the installation of all the six generating units in the station, but also the installation and debugging of the whole public system of the station, which requires more work than the installation of 8 generating units on the right bank of the Three Gorges. The whole project will be taken exclusively by CGGC.

During electromechanical installation on the left bank of the Three Gorges, CGGC has made two world records, namely, it enabled the power station to produce electricity of 2.10 million kw and installed 700,000 kw generating unites in 290 days.

In the course of installation on the right bank, the company has put into operation two types of 8 home-made generating units of 700,000 kw in only 29 months and took the lead in employing the core technology of quick installation of huge home-made generating unites, symbolizing that China has been in the lead in the installation of hydroelectric generating units.
