CGGC's Electrification Project in northern rural areas of Laos is entering onsite construction

On July 24, CGGC reached the supplementary contract of the Electrification Project in Laos northern rural areas with Laos National Power Corporation, implying that both parties have succeeded in preparatory financing and are entering onsite construction.

This is the first EPC project of CGGC in Laos involving design, provision and construction with a duration of 24 months. The project will result in a 1030 kilometers transmission and transformation line with an electrical load of 22 kilovolts and a 246 kilometers low voltage power line for civil use, as well as 232 transformers along the two lines. CGGC reached contract with Laos National Power Corporation on Aug 12, 2009.

It is understood that this is a priority project of Laos’s power development plan for 2020, and an important part of the country's electrification which will support 16000 families.
