Wuhan University of Technology is one of the key universities under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education of P.R. China. It is one of the universities included in the state-211 Project and the only one university that has navigation program. The university has eight major disciplines that include engineering, natural sciences, humanities, management, economics, law, philosophy and education. There are about 48,000 students studying in the university.

In 1952, the university began to admit international students. It is now the university appointed to admit the international students under the Chinese Government Scholarship Program. It is also the English teaching base for MBA under the Chinese Scholarship Council. There are almost 400 international students from over 60 countries in the university in 2008.

WUT Friendship Scholarship is offered to the self-supported international students from developing countries, which is to support the distinguished international students who are going to come to study at our university. The students from developing countries will enjoy 20% discount of the tuition. We also provide the award for international students each year and recommend the international students to do part time job on the campus to support themselves.
