I. Application procedure

The native residents should present the following certificates:

Household register printed and made by the Hubei Public Security Bureau and supervised by the Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China ?

Native Identification

The name, gender and birth date on the native Identification should be consistent with those on the Household register. If not, the residents should go to the local public security bureau and apply for a correction.

Foreigners applying for marriage registrations are expected to show the following certificates: (1)An effective passport or other effective International travel documents; (2) Proof of being single as identified by the Chinese embassy in their nation or the embassy of the nation in People’s Republic of China. The proof must be effective for six months. Three recently taken two-inch half-length, bareheaded and full-faced group photos are needed for the application. The proof documents should be in foreign languages. In accordance with the civil administration’s regulation, foreign languages should be translated into Chinese by the Hubei civil administration assigned organization.

Foreigners are that are not Chinese should present the following certificates: If applicants are both foreigners, in addition to the certificates required for foreigners that apply for marriage registrations, they must present proof authenticated by their country that acknowledges the effects of their Chinese marriage registration. If one of the applicants is a native resident while the other is foreigner, both of them should present the relative required certificates for foreigners. If one of the applicants is a Hubei native resident who is abroad now while the other is foreigner from Hong Kong, Macao, or other places, both of them should present the relative required certificates for foreigners.

The above application procedure is also adapted to resume matrimonial relation and post-marriage registration.

II. Registration procedure

(1) If Hubei residents get married to foreigners, overseas Chinese, Hong Kong or Macao residents, and/or Chinese students abroad, both should go to the Hubei civil administration marriage registries to register. If one of them is a Wuhan resident, both of them can go to Wuhan civil administration marriage registries or go to the Hubei civil administration marriage registries to register.

(2) The marriage registration processes according to the procedure of preliminary examination is: accept and hear a case → investigation → register → issue the license.

III. IV. Time limit of marriage registration The public servants check the applicant's certificates and those who are satisfied with the marriage requirements will be given the marriage registration instantly. Those who are not satisfied with the marriage requirements can not register.
