Land Supply

Hubei province has 1.4 million hectares land for construction use and 2.54 million hectares land which has not been used, amounting 7.5% and 13.7% respectively of the total land in Hubei province. The available space is sufficient. It can fully meet the needs of developing construction. Compared with the coastal areas, price of land supply in Hubei Province has considerable advantage (see the table below).

Power Supply

With the transmission of Three Gorges' electric power and the completion of China’sfirst UHV project, Hubei grid has become a modern grid covering the urban and rural areas of the whole province with no more than 110 KV grid. It has linked up with a 1000KV high voltage grid with a backbone of 500KV grid and a mainstay of 220KV grid. In 2010, the accumulative amount of electricity generation in Hubei province amounted to 202.9 TWH, among which hydropower reached 125 TWH.

Natural Gas Supply

The National West-East Gas Transmission Project runs through Hubei province from the west to the east. The total natural gas supply of Hubei province amounted to 1.5 billion cubic meters in 2010. The annual quantum of natural gas supply to Hubei would reach 6 billion cubic meters by 2015 according to the strategic cooperation agreement signed between the provincial government and CNPC (China National Petroleum Corporation).

Human Resources

Hubei province is abundant in labor resources with 36.2 million employees. It ranks first among all the cities in the number of college students on campus. The 3551 Talent Project of the East Lake National High-tech Innovation Demonstration Zone has an annual investment of no less than 150 million RMB yuan.

With a solid cultural foundation, Hubei province is absorbing new culture while inheriting the traditional, inclusively and diversely.

Medical and Health Service

There are totally 10,152 health institutions (excluding village clinic), 251,500 health technicians and 201,300 sickbeds. The Hubei Provincial Government provides 9 basic public health services for rural and urban residents. 97 rural counties(cities, districts) in Hubei province have implemented the New Rural Cooperative Medical System and it has covered 97.4% of the rural residents. We have seen smooth progress in major national public health services.

International Education

International Schools have effectively promoted the foreign exchange and cooperation of Hubei province and provided a platform for the overseas publicity of Hubei province.
