Rhododendrons blossom in Arxan

A rhododendron festival kicked off in Arxan, northwestern Hinggan League, Inner Mongolia autonomous region on May 21, attracting thousands of tourists to view the scenery.
Every May, rhododendrons blossom all over the mountains in Arxan. Visitors can embrace beautiful scenery combining green hills, blue lakes, and a purple sea of flowers. Sometimes, tourists can also experience snowfall adding to the beautiful scenery.
Arxan, a regional beauty spot, features an exceptionally dense concentration of volcanic landforms including volcano clusters, hot springs, lakes formed in volcanic craters and granite hills.
In February, Arxan’s Chaihe scenic spot was recognized as a national 5A-level attraction. Also, Arxan National Geopark was listed among the Global Geoparks Network during UNESCO’s 201st session held in Paris early this May.

High-speed train debuts in Inner Mongolia
A bullet train departed Hohhot East Railway Station for Ulanqab marking the start of high-speed rail services using Inner Mongolia’s first newly-laid high-speed railway on Aug 3.
