On June 1, a light and gentle rain fell on the historical town of Zhouzhuang. Women from Taiwan walked through the beautiful town with their oil-paper umbrellas spread out.

The women were busy helping their husbands, who have businesses in Kunshan. They came to Zhouzhuang with their friends as they recalled their childhood during International Children’s Day.

At Taiwan Old Street in Kunshan, the women were excited and happy to enjoy various displays, such as a display featuring Taiwan customs and local features, Taiwan original dances and Taiwan-characteristic food. Returning to their homeland, they were delighted to take the river boat to the beautiful town. During their journey on the river boat, the South China scenery, with white walls, black roofs and fishing activities, reminded them of their childhood. They sang nursery rhymes together. On the cultural street, they paid a visit to the local inhabitants. They also tasted famous tea and enjoyed classic instruments and storytelling at Sanmao and Lao Chaguan teahouse. They also experienced vintage traditions, tasted delicious wine, learned to weave homespun cloth, and appreciated the extraordinary Suzhou embroidery. When twilight came, after enjoying the local specialties, they watched the original performance Zhouzhuang in Four Seasons. After the performance, they walked along Shiban Street and appreciated the evening scenery. They were intoxicated by the hospitable Suzhou dialects. Late at night, they admired the Nanhu Lake scenery and went to the romantic 1086 Slow Life Bar.

Many charity institutions affiliated with Taiwan associations are comprised of women from Taiwan who reside in Kunshan in order to help their husbands. With the principle of "Assistance makes harmony", they provide assistance for different elderly homes, welfare houses and schools without pursuing personal gain. They also believe that though their actions are small, they are important as they have helped the women make new friends. They have a deeper love for Kunshan, and it has become their second hometown.
