The 2014 China Changbai Mountain International Ecological Forum, in the Changbai Mountain scenic area of Jilin province, running Sept 10-Sept 15, had a theme of "ecological civilization and green development", and brought in representatives of nature conservation sites in 14 countries.

At the opening ceremony there were also representatives of national nature reserves and ecology experts and scholars, and Wang Yonghong, chairman of the Beijing Zhonghong Group, who made a donation to the Changhai Mountains Ecological Public Welfare Fund, represented by Xie Zhongyan, head of Changbai Mountain Management and honorary chairman of the Changhai Mountain Ecological Public Welfare Foundation.

The forum mainly covered global environmental problems, ecological studies, biodiversity, construction and management of nature reserves, and developing ecological culture. Other activities were a Hurun Healthcare Report, an International Union of Nature Reserves and 16th China Biosphere Reserves Conference, 2nd Great Changbai Mountain Regional Cooperation and Development Symposium, 2014 National Footrace Championships, Ecological Changbai Mountain Painting and Photography Exhibition, Changbai Mountain Ecological Welfare Donation, and a 1000-people Public Welfare Cycling Activity.

Hosts of the forum were the Environmental Protection Ministry, State Forestry Administration, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China National Committee for Man and the Biosphere Program, and Jilin provincial government.
