He's a 45-year-old policeman, and the sole expert in the removal of explosives in Jilin province and even though 80 percent of his classmates in bomb disposal training have left the field and many times his life has been threatened, he insists on sticking to the job.

Zhu Jianmin has indeed put his life in a dangerous situation a lot, but when asked whether his family support his work, he replies, "My wife didn't even know this until a friend let the news out unintentionally two years ago," then adds, "but still she supports me."

All these years, he has committed himself to his cause and kept on learning more about it from books, workmates and practice.

He has accumulated a wealth of experience, and has a clear understanding that the successful removal of explosive devices depends a lot on technology, so he pushes the use of new technology in his work.

He has also dedicated himself to developing a professional team of explosives dismantlers and leads them in doing some physical training every day, so that, now, Jilin has a dedicated team of seven, a new generation growing up in the field.
