Yangshan Magic Pen Mountain

The evaluation result of the Most Favored Tourist Destinations of Guangdong in 2011 was recently announced. Over 70 destinations were listed, including Yangshan Magic Pen Mountain ecological tourism zone. The laurel will contribute to Yangshan county’s efforts to attract more tourists from the Pearl River Delta area, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

The evaluation of the Most Favored Tourist Destinations of Guangdong in 2011 is the first public appraisal aimed at the South China tourism market. The activity attracted 130 Chinese and foreign tourism administrations, scenic spots in operation, hotels, airline companies and other tourism institutions. The activity represents the inclinations and hobbies of tourists. It also serves as a good reference for tourists to choose their holiday destinations.

Yangshan Magic Pen Mountain Ecological Tourism Zone is located nine kilometers northwest of the Yangshan county seat. It is hailed as a unique scene of Lingnan area. In recent years, Yangshan county has exerted great efforts to develop itself into a primitive tourism zone. The scenic spot offers services of karst cave drifting, exploration tours, geological research, ecological sightseeing, and rest and relaxation tours. It is best known for its four primitive views. They are the magic pen celestial cave, earth core drifting, flying apsaras waterfall and bee pupa stone forest. The tourism zone is applying the 2.8km earth core drifting program for the Guinness World Records. The waterfall, nine meters wide and 100 meters high at the Twin Summits, is a grand sight that looks like a sheet of white silk high up in the sky. The scenic spot was built with an investment of 80 million yuan over five years. It has been favored by tourists since it went into trial operation in 2009. It was honored as the Best Loved Tourism Destination of Shenzhen and Hong Kong People in 2009.

At present, the tourism zone is applying to appear on the national AAAA-level scenic spots list. In the future, it will construct a five-star hotel, resort village and health ecological zone. It will cultivate a 10-mile corridor integrating the functions of entertainment, shopping, lodging and amusement, to become a green, natural, ecological tourism zone.
