A large group of Taiyuan photographers paid a two-day visit to Datong, Shanxi province May 26 - 27 to get some shots of the city's classical buildings.

Organized by the Shanxi Classical Architectural Engineering Co Ltd, the activity was to give the province a chance to show its variety of buildings and let them?learn more about the proper maintenance of the architecture.

Shanxi is referred to as a classical architecture museum, thanks to its many different types old buildings and long history.

The Architectural Engineering Co is one of only two top garden and classical building construction companies approved by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (formerly Construction Ministry).

The company's principle is to maintain and repair old buildings and it has been involved in more than 100 significant restoration works, which combine tourism with culture.

A company representative said that the photo-op was a chance to let more people learn more about the preservation of classical buildings.
