Business is a significant part of daily life. The Chinese conducted business for thousands of years and prospered during the Ming and Qing dynasty.
For more than 500 years, businessmen from Shanxi province were active in commerce. They were famous for their business acumen and called 'Jin Shang' or "Shanxi Businessmen" in English. The Shanxi Businessmen Museum of Beijing is located in the eastern part of the city, close to the Central Business District, and is the first business related museum in China. Mark Griffiths takes us on a tour.
