With a long history and a rich galaxy of outstanding people, the Shanxi province has abundant historical cultural heritage and a history of the record with character until now is about 3000 years here. The historical culture of Shanxi is very clear and the system is fully completed, which has played an important role in the forming of Chinese civilization, brought a great effect to the production of 5000-year-long Chinese civilization and enabled the province becoming an area with the profound characteristic of local culture. At present, among the ancient architectures on the ground before Song and Jin dynasties which are still well preserved in the whole country, 70% are located in Shanxi. There are more than 119 cultural relics with great value under the protection of the national level in the province.
