At the Taiyuan Coal Trade Fair, which ran for eight days, Dec 12-19, at the China Taiyuan Coal Transaction Center in Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi province, 955-million tons of coal changed hands, with 710-million tons for railway transport and 245-million ton for road transport, for a new fair record. The fair had two parts -- a China Coal Market Forum 2014 and Coal Trade Fair 2014 -- and came with the latest information on coal policies and market prediction, as well as a free trading market without any political interference, which is good for Shanxi’s coal market reform.
The total volume of coal trades was 1.3 billion tons, with more than 6 million in daily trade a new addition. Total transactions amounted to 851.3 billion yuan. The center has become a national coal market, one with China’s largest number of registered dealers and largest trade, with a full service platform.
