Beijing New Building Material (Group) will build a new green town in Yanhu district, the main district of Yuncheng, Shanxi province. The green town is estimated to cost 2 billion yuan ($320 million).
The new town will promote energy conservation and environmental protection with its light-gauge steel-frame construction and new, environmentally-friendly materials.
It will be the first ecological community integrating modern technology and traditional culture in Yuncheng. It is expected to improve the living conditions of urban and rural residents.
Beijing New Building Material (Group) is a subsidiary of China Building Materials Corporation, a State enterprise integrating building material investment, logistics and trade, and the wood products industry. It is directly administered by the State Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.
The corporation will also cooperate with privately-owned enterprises to build industrial factories and carry out other ecological projects.
