An exhibition of Shanxi specialties and culture will be held from Nov 18 to 21 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, which is the final stop of the "Shanxi Brands China Tour" in 2016.
Shanxi will choose 53 leading local companies as exhibitors to promote their specialties. More than 1,000 kinds of products in 11 major categories, including food and daily necessities, will be on display at the Hangzhou Peace International Conference & Exhibition Center.
To further economic cooperation with Zhejiang, Shanxi will host a series of seminars, such as the Shanxi-Zhejiang e-commerce fair and a negotiation conference for Shanxi and Zhejiang merchants. The regional advantages of Zhejiang as a developed eastern province neighboring international shipping lanes will facilitate the market expansion of Shanxi brands in East China and beyond.
As for the cultural sector, the northern province will show its unique intangible cultural heritage to locals in Hangzhou, including traditional noodle-making demonstrations by Shanxi chefs as well as Jiangzhou gong and drum music.
The activity, organized by the Shanxi government, has toured 37 cities in China since 2013, achieving 50 million yuan ($7.28 million) in spot transactions, and agreements worth some three billion yuan.
