To attract more visitors to Shanxi, a promotion meeting for Shanxi tourism and train travel was held in Taiyuan on Nov 11.
High-speed rail has been developing rapidly in China and is deeply affecting the tourism industry. More visitors traveling to Shanxi via high-speed rail are expected to provide a significant boost for rail tourism in the province.
The meeting, hosted by Shanxi Provincial Tourism Development Commission and Taiyuan Railway Administration, aimed to integrate tourism and rail travel, furthering integration between the two areas and attracting more tourist trains to Shanxi.
The event promoted tourism related to the Yellow River, Great Wall and Taihang Mountain. A launch ceremony for 100 tourist trains was held during the promotion event.
