Datong Guesthouse, established in 1972, is a famous city resort for leisure and vacation. It was reconstructed into a four-star hotel at the end of 2000.

The guest rooms are equipped with IC gate locks, international direct-dialing telephones, satellite TV receiving system, a customer safe, internet and a mini-bar. The hotel has six various sized meeting rooms, which can be joined to make three small meeting rooms for less than 50 persons each, two medium-sized meeting rooms for 100 to 150 persons, or one large meeting room for 400 persons.

The hotel has a Chinese restaurant, western restaurant, luxury private room, and a rose tea lounge, able to feed 600 people. The Chinese restaurant mainly serves Sichuan, Shandong, Cantonese and Shanxi cuisines, supported with various delicacies and snacks. The western restaurant supplies French and Italian feasts, along with European delicacies. The rose tea lounge, with all sorts of drinks, is an ideal place for leisure and rest. There are 18 private rooms each named after a well known scene from the history of Datong.
