During the ceremony, Feng said that the book displays both Datong's sculptures and Datong's well-preserved historical relics and cultural heritage.

In addition, Feng thought highly of the idea to include citizens in cultural discussions and decision-making, showing respect to the people and culture. The sculpture protection has been a part of people's life in Datong and the city has become modern, yet rich with historic culture.

Shan said that Datong adopts a rational and scientific way of building the new town while protecting the old town and at the same time, developing the city.

Geng expressed thanks to those experts and scholars who used to contribute to Datong's cultural preservation. Shaping into the city of sculptures is a strategic plan of Datong. Later, the museum of Chinese sculptures arts will be established to display the best contemporary sculptures. Geng also considered making a profit for Datong by saving historic culture and Datong Sculpture Collection's publication is just the beginning of that.
