A forum designed to boost development through technology, personnel and innovation is scheduled to kick off in Shanxi province on Dec 22, according to the Shanxi Provincial Commission of Science and Technology.

The commission will release a report on the conditions of the province’s science and technology workers at the forum. The report is based on a province-wide survey in 2013. Organized by the commission, the survey is the first of its kind in Shanxi since the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

At the forum, State and provincial officials will be invited to deliver speeches on talent cultivation and personnel management. Focusing on the specific conditions in Shanxi, they will explore new developments and trends about personnel policies and help science and technology workers as well as the public better understand such policies.

The forum is organized by the provincial commission of science and technology and held by the Shanxi Association of Experts and Scholars. It also receives support from the Chinese Association of Science and S&T Policy Research, the Shanxi Department of Science and Technology, and the Personnel Office of the CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee.
