Wanghai Peak

The Wanghai Peak is the eastern point of Mount Wutai, located ten kilometers east of Taihuai town. It has an altitude of 2,795 meters and covers an area of 6.67 hectares. On the top of the peak, there was a building called Wanghai.

When seen from afar, the Wanghai Peak looks like a standing elephant and when looked by visitors standing on the top, it looks like the back of a big turtle. At any given time while standing on the mountaintop, the scenery is stunning and very enjoyable, although the most splendid sight is when the sun rises from the sea of clouds. If you get there on a fine summer morning, at dawn, the red sun rising upon the horizon of clouds will surely be a feast for the eyes.
