Shandong Ningyang Economic Development Zone is a provincial-level economic development zone. It was built in 2002 with a total area of 80 square kilometers and a core area of 20 square kilometers.

The development zone works to promote the development of high-end traditional industries and emerging industries. It has formed several industrial clusters including high-end biotechnology, equipment manufacturing, auto parts, new energy, new materials, and modern logistics.

A number of key enterprises have grown rapidly in the zone, including Tagao Group, Baosheng Group, Chaowei Group, Huayang Group, Sheng’ao Group and Libo Group. The zone has cultivated six high-tech enterprises above provincial level, one academician workstation, two post-doctoral workstations, nine provincial engineering technology research centers and six municipal research centers.

The development zone will continue to promote industrial transfer, introduce high-quality economic projects, and cultivate and develop strategic emerging industries, aiming to develop into a new modern industrial zone with a beautiful environment, technological innovation, and industrial strength.
