Wanda Group chairman visits Shiyan city

From September 18 to 19, a delegation led by Wang Jianlin, chairman of Dalian Wanda Group, a Chinese conglomerate with activities in real estate, tourism, hotels and entertainment, visited the city of Shiyan in Central China’s Hubei province.

Zhou Ji, Party secretary of Shiyan, and Zhang Weiguo, deputy Party secretary and mayor of Shiyan, held a meeting with Wang and reached a consensus on more cooperation between the two sides.

Zhou gave his cordial welcome to Wang and his delegation, and expressed his thanks for the great support offered by Wanda Group to the development of Shiyan. He said that the Shiyan Wanda Square project has been implemented smoothly and is under construction, unveiling the curtain of cooperation between Shiyan and Wanda Group. Shiyan is the core catchment area of the South-North Water Diversion Project’s middle-leg. It boasts a long-standing culture along the Hanshui River, profound deposits of Wudang culture, and the powerful strength of the automobile industry. The city is also endowed with rich tourism resources with great development potential.

According to Zhou, Shiyan will give great impetus to the construction of a batch of major transportation projects like airports, intercity railways and expressways, speeding up to form a three-dimensional traffic pattern. It will strengthen work style construction comprehensively, innovate service models and improve service level in an attempt to create an excellent environment for Wanda Group to develop in Shiyan.

Zhang said that, as one of the world cultural heritages, the Wudang Mountains is a cultural tourism brand with great prestige in the world that enjoys huge development potential for its tourism resources. China Wanda Group is a world-renowned enterprise with extensive experience and powerful strength in construction of the cultural tourism industry. He hoped that both parties will work together to create a new scenario where the government and enterprises can achieve mutual development and prosperity.

Wang also expressed his sincere thanks for the high priority and great support given by the Shiyan municipal Party committee and government to Wanda Group in its development in Shiyan. He said that Shiyan has beautiful mountains, clear waters, fresh air, clean environment, orderly social governance and thriving industrial development, as well as unique ecological culture. The rich cultural tourism resources of the Wudang Mountains in particular have great potential. Therefore, Wanda Group is confident in its investment in Shiyan. According to Wang, Wanda will develop creative, high-level cultural tourism projects with great influence. It will send a panel of experts to visit Shiyan for detailed investigation, objective appraisal and full demonstration so as to nail down a project construction scheme for mutual benefit.
